THE ISSUE
Additionally, external factors such as hunger, poor housing, ill health, inflation rates, and other barriers beyond their control further complicate matters. These adverse conditions, combined with societal pressures, lead children to view education as a luxury rather than a necessity.

According to UNICEF figures, one in every five of the world's out-of-school children is in Nigeria. Even though primary education is constitutionally free and compulsory, about 20 million of the country's children are not in school, the highest number in Sub-Saharan Africa. (UNICEF Nigeria; UNESCO GEM Report 2022). The figures in Nigeria have oscillated between 10.5 million and around 15 million for over a decade. However, with the situation worsening, the number has skyrocketed.
According to UNICEF, of the over 18.5 million children out of school in Nigeria in 2022, 60% were girls. 69% of Nigerians live below the poverty line. 40million children live in extreme poverty (punching.com)
Due to ever-increasing inflation rates and all-round hardship, minors in Nigeria are forced to drop out of school and enter the workforce at a young age, often working as domestic staff and street hawkers, which directly places them in grave danger. This perpetuates the cycle of child labor and poverty and
limits their potential for a better future. Simply put, many Nigerian Children are hungry Children!- It is our collective responsibility to change this narrative and ensure education for all, regardless of
their socio-economic background.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
In the face of challenging circumstances such as natural disasters, poverty, and child labor, the opportunity for education often takes a backseat.
Empowering school children with the necessary resources to support and maintain their education creates a strong motivation for them to attend school.
PRIORITY
When parents who are facing financial difficulties must decide between sending their children to school or having them work to support the family, ensuring the family's well-being typically takes precedence.

At gHAI, our belief is in providing equal opportunities and access to education and nutrition for every child, without any discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or social class. Our desire is to create an inclusive environment and provide essential resources that are vital for the attendance of vulnerable children in schools. Through our tireless efforts, we strive to eliminate barriers and make school attendance equally accessible for those who have previously faced obstacles.
At GHAI Initiatives, we are dedicated to uplifting disadvantaged children and youth by meeting their basic needs. We believe that by doing so, we can help these young minds escape poverty and child labor and create a better society.
Since our establishment in 2008, we have worked tirelessly to provide nutritious food, support quality education, and provide essential resources to children in need. Our focus is on caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, giving them the opportunities to reach their full potential. We offer them shelter, healthcare, and support in order to foster healthy lives, boost their confidence, and provide them with love, care, discipline, and guidance.

Our commitment is to secure and distribute the necessary resources to make this possible. Our expertise spans across seven critical areas, all aimed at empowering children to break free from the chains of poverty and build a brighter future.
THE RESULTS
We are humbled and grateful for the tremendous impact we have made in schools, hospitals, and communities. The love and support we have extended through gHAI have touched many lives, leaving us with heartwarming testimonials. In order to create a brighter future for these deserving children by reintegrating them into school, our efforts have successfully brought back over 30% of out-of-school children in our communities and given them a second chance at education. This impressive feat is a direct result of our unwavering dedication to our 7 fundamental areas of expertise.

Investing in their future through EDUCATION: We have covered school fees and provided essential educational supplies for these children, setting them up for success.

Securing a healthy foundation for them through HEALTHCARE: We have taken care of the medical bills for children who were forced out of school due to health challenges, ensuring they can return to the classroom in good health.

Spreading the word through ADVOCACY: We tirelessly raise awareness about child hunger, child labor, and neglect, attracting sponsors who can provide support for these children's nutritional and educational needs.

Restoring hope through DISASTER RELIEF: When disaster strikes, we act swiftly to send relief to families and children affected by both man-made and natural disasters, providing a glimmer of hope in their darkest times.

Nourishing their minds and bodies through NUTRITION: We believe in the power of a healthy body for optimal learning. That's why we have been providing nutritious meals to school-age children in need.

Building a brighter future through EMPOWERMENT: We have introduced computer and technical skills training for the youth, equipping them with the tools they need to support their education and thrive.

Providing stability through SHELTER: We understand the importance of a stable home environment. That's why we have offered shelter support and and adopt a child program to support homeless school-age children, giving them a safe place to grow and learn.
When we look at the numbers, the magnitude of our impact is truly inspiring. We have provided 400,000 nourishing school meals, established libraries that cater to 25,000 students, and equipped 350 children with essential computer literacy skills. Not only have we bridged the digital divide, but we have also opened up countless opportunities for these children's futures. Through our clothing
project, 20,000 vulnerable children have received warm and appropriate clothing, promoting their well-being and boosting their self-esteem.

Our dedication to empowering women through entrepreneurship has yielded remarkable results. We have trained twenty women comprehensively in entrepreneurship skills and witnessed their successful business launches. These women have created sustainable livelihoods and transformed lives within their communities.

In addition to our ongoing projects, the gHAI Initiative has ensured that no family goes without during the Christmas holiday since 2008. We have distributed essential items such as new clothing, shoes, toys, and cooked and raw food supplies to over 3,000 children and families, spreading joy and hope during this special time of year.

gHAI Initiatives, in collaboration with Lagos State Teaching Hospital, has also been a beacon of hope and support for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS since 2008. We not only sponsor medication and hospital visits, but also empower these individuals to become self-sufficient and face life with renewed strength.
Our efforts go beyond medical support, including seminars to restore self-esteem and combat societal stigma. We take to the streets, engaging in road shows and launching school campaigns to educate and create a supportive environment.

One of our most heartfelt initiatives is our commitment to the orphans of HIV/AIDS victims. We organize annual events to ensure these children experience the joy of celebration like their peers. We believe their parents' circumstances should not define their childhood.
Our work touches lives, transforming despair into hope and fear into courage. Each story, challenge, and triumph is a testament to the power of compassion and community.
